Guojun is an Associate General Counsel and the director of International Patents at Intel. Guojun has worked on patent prosecution, portfolio management, global patent strategies, and patent litigation for more than twenty years. Through the work, he has gained substantial experiences in many international-patent-related legal areas including foreign filing license, inventor remuneration, utility model practices, export regulations, PCT practice, patent policy, across various jurisdictions (e.g., China, Europe, India, Japan, Korea). He led a major patent litigation case in China. He was invited to speak on a broad range of patent topics in many international conferences.
Guojun obtained his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D., all in electrical engineering, from Southeast University (Nanjing China), Tsinghua University (Beijing, China), and Duke University (North Carolina U.S.), respectively. He worked as an engineer in China, in Singapore, and in the U.S. for many years. He had several patents. Guojun earned his J.D. (cum laude) from Northwest School of Law of Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon, U.S.
Guojun rotated to Asia from the U.S. in 2016, lived in Taipei from 2016 to 2024, and currently lives in Beijing. He is the lead person managing Intel’s international patents, developing international patent strategies, and working closely with outside counsels across the world to improve the quality of patents in different jurisdictions. Additionally, Guojun manages several Intel patent portfolios.
